Work has followed two general directions, that guided by institutional education and the other by the skiing community and industry. I like to ski; what else is there to say? What does a skier with a photographic education do but take pictures of skiers? A great debt goes to those who helped me enter the greater skiing community in Vancouver and the rest of the Pacific Northwest. The adventure now continues from the Tahoe area.

On the other side of the fence, fine-art work has focused primarily on the landscape. Specifically, man's impact on his surroundings and his apparently innate desire to reorganize the 'natural' environment are influential. Scale, ideas about development and waste, land-use, resources, human interaction and values, the validity of elements of contemporary culture... all enter the visual discourse. While not necessarily trying to preach any gospel of the land, it nonetheless suggests an inquisitive take on one's surroundings.
